VNSGU Recruitment 2026 – 194 Teaching Posts
Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU), Surat, has officially released a recruitment notification for 194 Temporary Assistant Professor (TAP) / Temporary Teaching Assistant / Tutor posts across 20+ departments and self-financed programmes vide Advertisement Nos. GAD/TAP/E.N./4169/2026 & GAD/TAP/E.N./4170/2026. Applications must be submitted online before 26 March 2026 (06:10 PM) through the official VNSGU recruitment portal at vnsgurec.samarth.edu.in.

VNSGU is one of Gujarat's leading state universities, affiliated to several colleges across South Gujarat. These posts are purely temporary on an 11-month contractual basis — the appointment automatically ends on completion of 11 months or on the joining of a regular faculty member, whichever is earlier. The salary ranges from ₹25,000 to ₹60,000 per month as a fixed consolidated amount, varying by department and post type.

This is a great opportunity for NET/SET/Ph.D. qualified candidates who want to build a career in university-level teaching. Candidates must apply separately for each department or post they wish to be considered for. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Post-Wise Pay Structure

Temporary Assistant Professor (TAP): ₹40,000 – ₹60,000/- per month (fixed consolidated, department-wise). Requires NET/SET/Ph.D.
Temporary Teaching Assistant: ₹25,000 – ₹40,000/- per month. Master's Degree in relevant subject.
Tutor: ₹25,000/- per month (fixed). Bachelor's/Master's Degree as per department requirement.


Eligibility Criteria
For TAP posts: Master's Degree in the relevant/allied subject from a recognized university with minimum conditions as per UGC Notification 2018. NET/SET/Ph.D. qualification is mandatory as applicable for each subject. Specialization must match or be allied to the advertised department. Research publications and teaching experience are desirable.
For Teaching Assistant/Tutor posts: Master's Degree (or Bachelor's where specified) in the relevant subject. Candidates with NET/SET/Ph.D. will be given preference.

Important Service Conditions

Contract period: 11 months only — no right to regular/permanent appointment.
Selected candidates must sign an agreement on ₹300 stamp paper.
No PF, Gratuity, LTC, or Medical benefits.
Performance reviewed every 6 months; poor performance may lead to early termination.
Working hours: Minimum 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM.

University reserves the right to modify, increase, decrease, or cancel any posts without prior notice.


Selection Process

Shortlisting: Based on online application form, academic credentials, and uploaded documents.
Interview / Written Test: As decided by the University Selection Committee for each department.
Document Verification: Original certificates verified before final appointment letter is issued.
